Energy Assurance is an accredited battery testing lab with several certifications that we maintain. Our full scope of services covers the US and international safety and performance testing standards for small format Lithium Ion cells and batteries.
Energy Assurance is an accredited battery test lab with Underwriters Laboratories as a member of the Certificated Agency Program (CAP) with Underwriters Laboratories Inc. Our CAP certification covers UL 62133, UL 1642, UL 2054 and battery testing per UL 60950-1. CAP labs are authorized to perform testing in accordance the standards that are within their scope of accreditation. Furthermore, Energy Assurance can perform testing under these standards without UL witnessing of the testing. In order to obtain this certification, labs undergo an extensive technical and quality systems audit by UL.
Additionally, Energy Assurance LLC is an accredited battery testing lab for several IEC portable battery standards including IEC 62133. We have been accepted as a member of the IECEE CB Scheme as a Certified Bodies Test Lab (CBTL). Energy Assurance is entitled to operate as a CBTL under the responsibility of UL (Demko) as our National Certification Body (NCB). Overall our CBTL certification allows us to provide a gateway to global markets as well as a superior level of confidence among industry, regulators and their stakeholders. Our scope currently includes IEC 62133 ed1, IEC 62133 ed2, IEC 62281 and IEC 60086-4.
Correspondingly, Energy Assurance is an accredited battery testing lab with TÜV SÜD America. We have been evaluated and certified under the TÜV SÜD CARAT Program for cell and battery testing. This recognition allows Energy Assurance to test small format batteries to the following standards in support of TÜV SÜD certifications:
IEC 62133, IEC 61960-1, UN 38.3 (UN Manual of Tests and Criteria), UL 1642, UL 2054
Finally, Energy Assurance LLC is an accredited battery testing lab by ANAB in accordance with the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025. View our ANAB certificate and scope.
